SOO-FEN FAM hold B.SC. in Statistics with Management, M.Sc. in Quality and Productivity Improvement and Doctoral Degree in Statistics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She has various experiences and diversified expertise. She served Accountant General's Department of Malaysia (AGD), Ministry of Health Malaysia (MoH), Department of Veterinary Services, Ministry of Malaysia Agriculture and Agro-Based, International College of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM) and Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM). During her 12-year service with DoSM she involved in the compilation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators from various ministries/agencies. She has vast experience in data collection and data analysis for national data. She had been selected to attend sub regional training course in Chiba, Japan, sponsored by UNSIAP and UNESCAP. She led few projects yielded outstanding performance, such as, National Agriculture Census, Knowledge Content in Key Economic Sectors in Malaysia (MYKe) under United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and collaboration project between DoSM and EPU. Currently, she holds a post as Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship (FPTT), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). She is also an adviser for industry, government agency and non-government organization in the field of agropreneurship and green technology management. Her research interest is mainly related to total quality improvement, new job creation and new product innovation, which aim at improving the communities’ socioeconomics and subsequently reduce inequality, the 10th indicator in SDG. She diversifies her research in tourism, agriculture, entrepreneurship, green technology management, education and public health to assist government in building public policy to improve deprived areas’ socioeconomics. Apart from that, she also looking seriously into the development of sustainable cities and communities. She has a joint research with Melaka Green Technology Corporation (PTHM) in the fields of mobile units (on-road transportation, railway and aviation), greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, municipal solid waste management, biodegradable plastic bags, energy efficiency and green buildings. In addition, she had successfully completed three collaboration projects for feasibility studies. Firstly, collaboration between UTeM and Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM) in the study of the potential and challenges to develop rural area namely Masjid Tanah, to become new tourist attraction in Melaka. Secondly, collaboration between UTeM and Universitas Semarang, Indonesia (UNNES) in the study of Sustainable Economy for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC): A Case Study on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Melaka. Lastly, second collaboration between UTeM and UNNES in the study of Educational Culturepreneurship in Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) incorporate with AEC.
